    Fundraising Opportunities:

Sign up your "shopper card" at Campbell’s labels. Here's how to do it:  Go to:  http://www.elabelsforeducation.com/Sites/Campbells_eLabels/Page/HomePage

Create your profile, choose your participating retailer (they are listed), enter your shopper card number and then select JAMES DOBSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL to support.  It only takes one minute to register your card. After you register, you do nothing but shop for participating products. Points will be added electronically to Dobson's account. As an added bonus, continue to clip the labels and send them into school. We will earn more points.

The Celebration Continues: 8th Grade Visits Jill Scott's Recording Studio

In continuation of last week's celebration, the winners of the Math + Science Coalition Student Video Contest winners and the 8th grade students, traveled to one of Jill Scott's recording studios.  Students toured the studio, guided by one of the sound engineers that has worked with Jill Scott, Montez Roberts.  The students learned how math and science meet the arts meet head on when recording. From the construction of the room, using nonparallel walls to remove reverb, to how the engineers position the sound frequencies using the channels on the sound board and computer, students discovered that math and science plays an integral role in every aspect of the recording process.  The students would like to thank the Math + Science Coalition as well as Jill Scott's Foundation, The Blues Babe Foundation, for providing them with this wonderful opportunity and unforgettable experience,

The 8th Grade Arrives at the Recording Studio

Students were amazed by the number of artists that have recorded their albums (or at least part of their albums) at this studio.
They enjoyed looking at the gold, platinum...even triple platinum albums on the walls!
