In continuation of last week's celebration, the winners of the Math + Science Coalition Student Video Contest winners and the 8th grade students, traveled to one of Jill Scott's recording studios. Students toured the studio, guided by one of the sound engineers that has worked with Jill Scott, Montez Roberts. The students learned how math and science meet the arts meet head on when recording. From the construction of the room, using nonparallel walls to remove reverb, to how the engineers position the sound frequencies using the channels on the sound board and computer, students discovered that math and science plays an integral role in every aspect of the recording process. The students would like to thank the Math + Science Coalition as well as Jill Scott's Foundation,
The Blues Babe Foundation, for providing them with this wonderful opportunity and unforgettable experience,

Students were amazed by the number of artists that have recorded their albums (or at least part of their albums) at this studio.
They enjoyed looking at the gold, platinum...even triple platinum albums on the walls!
