6th Grade Pop Art

Our sixth grade students just finished a unit on Pop Art.  They studied the work of Andy Warhol and learned that Pop Art can be any every day item that is drawn in a brash and colorful way. Pop Art is short for Popular Art. It is inspired by comic strips, advertising, and popular entertainment.  The students chose an image of an every day object and used filters to distort its appearance.  They then utilized the magic wand and the bucket tools to select areas and recolor them.  Finally, the students pulled all of their images together into one fantastic piece.  Exceptional work 6th grade!
